Lauro "LJ" Chavez: Ill start by saying a few months prior it was announced by President Bush that Dick Cheney would be heading up operations over NORAD our North American Aerospace Defense Command. Along with many of my peers, we were shocked. Over the years, if you research NORAD, it has always been under the command of a Military officer. It was done this way because the defense of this country has always been in the hands of such. Prior to the months before 9-11 this was all of the sudden changed. Like I said, if you research NORAD and the command structure you will find that it was imposed long ago that the military should be in control of the order to scramble planes in the defense of American air space. For some strange reason, Bush changed this and gave that power to a civilian person on his Staff team yes I know, very interesting.

Back to the morning of 9-11; the command was busy with this training exercise. We were instructed to bring all our gear in to prep for a mock (staged) deployment to the Middle East. On the morning of 9-11 I had been on base prepped and ready to go since about 0400. During my time at the base that morning, they were setting up barriers around the command and placing gun posts on the roofs. When I questioned one of the security officers about the machine gun and shoulder fired rockets on the roof I was given the answer its a precaution for a plane attempting to crash into this building.

So, I was standing in the SCIF (Secure Compartmented Information Facility), which is basically this underground bunker command post for USCENTCOM, when the first plane hit. We were watching the fly patterns of all the planes on the aerospace grid. This contained not only all commercial flights at the time, but all military flights, and fake enemy planes that were supposedly put on there for the exercise. Many of the planes sent to intercept the fake blips were scrambled from Andrews which is an air defense AFB for the East Coast. They were sent across the US and left very few planes to defend the capital. After the first plane hit the tower we were all in disbelief. After the initial shock was over, our questions were what are the odds this could happen for real, during a training exercise thats covering the same scenario? We were all at wits end. Then to top all of this off, Cheney gave NORAD the order to stand down scrambling jets to intercept. A few moments later tower 2 was hit. Only after the Pentagon was hit, did he give the orders to scramble the jets to intercept the plane bound for the White House.

Related article: Claim: USCENTCOM Sergeant Blows Whistle On 9/11 Inside Job:

An individual describing himself as a Sergeant stationed at MacDill AFB claims he witnessed unusual preparations for a potential airplane hitting the base on the morning of 9/11 and publicly questions the NORAD stand down and the demolition of the twin towers. Many have reacted to the claims by warning of a hoax designed to poison the well of the 9/11 truth movement.

In a letter that first appeared on the 9/11 Veterans For Truth Website, Sergeant Lauro "LJ" Chavez responds to a Cincinnati Post hit piece article by outlining his own doubts about the official version of 9/11 and his personal experiences of the strange prelude to the events of that morning.

Here is a link to a video posted on YouTube that shows the letter indicating Cheney's appointment as head of NORAD and mainstream media reports which show that NORAD and other branches of the military were rehearsing response plans to attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon - including exercises the day of 9/11.

Whether this means that there was deliberate planning by the Bush administration to prevent or to control events on 9/11 is far from clear. But what IS clear is that their statements that nobody in their administration could CONCEIVE of such an attack were clearly untrue.

It's really a "smoking gun" if the story turns out to be true. I guess we'll learn some more soon.

Most certainly; or at least fire him from the Army. But I don't really expect the story to be true, although it sounds very convincing. Why would he wait 5 years to let it out?

This comes at the same time the Pentagon finally released the video from the Citgo station that shows nothing. The same question, why wait 5 years.

For me, the crucial point has always been the apparent "stand down" by the navy. The US military has changed their story at least three times, and the 9/11 Commission were also pretty sceptical:

Suspicion of wrongdoing ran so deep that the 10-member commission, in a secret meeting at the end of its tenure in summer 2004, debated referring the matter to the Justice Department for criminal investigation, according to several commission sources. Staff members and some commissioners thought that e-mails and other evidence provided enough probable cause to believe that military and aviation officials violated the law by making false statements to Congress and to the commission, hoping to hide the bungled response to the hijackings, these sources said.

If this story turns out to be a lie, it might damage the "conspiracy" movement's cause.

I can understand why somebody would not want to go public, however I would expect there to be a good reason why they would eventually spill the beans.

Exactly Keld, being aware of the pressure one would be under both from the government and the media once one outs the evidence, I would say it's going to take more than a nagging conscience to bring that about.

Why he waited 5 years is indeed an extremely good question. The reason he gives, is that he was outraged by the Cincinatti Post's article about the recent "1 in 3 believe conspiracy theory" poll:

I felt it necessary to follow up to a recent story that was published in Cincinnati Post. It was titled "1 in 3 believe 9-11 conspiracy theory."

I must admit that at first I was overwhelmed with joy that our local paper was actually starting to have real journalism and talk about real issues. Then I read the story and it was a total debunk to make the actual people around the world who feel there was something not right about 9-11, to look like over reacting conspiracy theorists.

I'm utterly outraged. My 9 year old daughter could have done more research in this

I have to say it seems fishy to me that it took a newspaper article to bring out his "outrage"... you'd think the original event would've done that a long time ago. He also promotes some of the flimsier and "easier to debunk" 9-11 stuff, like Loose Change, the Pentagon-no-plane theory, Silverstein's "pull it" quote, etc.

But, none of this is conclusive. Perhaps the Post article is "the straw that broke the camel's back" on his silence. Perhaps he's simply unaware of the many inaccuracies in Loose Change, etc.

I read he was on Alex Jones recently... have to go hunt that down.

Whether or not this story is true, there are some questions that need full public and transparent investigation. The reports of explosions are odd. The blown out windows in the lobby are extremely odd. The footage of the core support of the WTC 'cut' at an angle as per demolitions is odd. The reported blackouts at the WTC the weekend before the attack is odd. The fact the WTC came down is very odd. The fact the 3 buildings came down in their own footprint counter to all prior experience and engineering understanding is odd. Where are the answers?

Hetep and Respect Keld, Important seed tnx. I was part of NORAD when I was in. My computers managed the defense of the north east. We could and did scramble early warning jets within minutes of suspicious activity (e.g. plane off flight path and no communication). No one attacked America on our watch. I have accused the King of, at minimum, gross dereliction of duty for his failure to defend America. If it is substantiated that Cheny was put in charge of NORAD, then the King and the crime family should be charged with treason.

Dick Cheney would be heading up operations over NORAD

Thanks for this info, Aunk. To my knowledge, it's a fact that Cheney was in charge of NORAD on 9/11. I don't have a link right here, but I'm sure Google can help you. Whatever happened on 9/11, it happened under the watch of Dick Cheney.

Hetep and Respect Keld, great links. everyone interested in this topic should read these articles.

      Simplifying the Case

      1. Secret Service was the supreme command on 9/11.
      2. Bush was not in the role of Commander in Chief at critical times on 9/11.
      3. The acting Commander in Chief as the 9/11 plot unfolded was Dick Cheney.

No more needs to be said.

As I read The Final Fraud, I remembered the tapes and the Air traffic controller asking "is this real or the exercise..." I remember thinking why would the Game be coming up? I said to myself We had the big war every year (simulated attack on US with computer generated synthetic video and some live air force). but that would not be happening on 911. Boy was I wrong!

Add to that the fact that, the military head of NORAD, would not comment on who was in charge of NORAD on 911 and it is evident that crime family treason against us starts before IRAQ.

November is the last chance, VOTE!

Hetep and Respect Keld, I just listened to the audio, He sounds credible to me too. The young man sounds like me when I was in.

My first thoughts are, holy smoke we have the smoking gun. SAC jets ordered to stand down in an attack is treason. As was said in the audio Sac lives day and night for one thing - when the light goes on in their area they are in the air, ready to lock and load, in 6 minutes flat. So how do planes wonder around our skies for the morning and no one goes up. It is not passable, unless someone said stand down. This is the first time I have head a series of events that would account for our jets being on the ground during an attack.

Kald lets roll play for a minute. You and I are Strategic Air Command Pilots. We are setting in the rec room or any room and we see plans attack the World Trade Center. What would happen? We would look at each other, we could not say a word, we would be in our planes (which are right outside the door fueled and ready to go) and let our orders catch up to us in the air. That is, unless someone told us to stand down.

This needs to be followed and blown up in the blogosphere from now to November, and then let the hearings begin.

P.S. This young man and the unnamed officer who told him about the stand down order need some protection.

I also posted the Terror Storm video on my blog. I will do my part to spread the word.

Nice link to "Crossing the Rubicon" by Michael Ruppert. Mr. Ruppert brought this issue to light some time ago, and was given a speaking engagement at the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco where he directly implicated Dick Cheney. I hear the book is well documented as well. It still amazes me how so many American people place so much faith and trust in their government, which has a factually documented history, including admissions, of deceiving its own population in the name of "spreading democracy and freedom." The propaganda machine is truly amazing. But then again, just look at the Nielson ratings for [enter crappy television show here] and it really isn't that surprising.

Interesting. He's coming from an inside point of view but you're not going to bring down a Vice President based on the testimony of a Sgt, I would think.

Still, that shifting of NORAD control is very, very interesting. It implies advance planning. Room for investigation, to be sure - hopefully by a new Congress, coming soon.

Read this, Rhine: Dick Cheney and the Secret Service:

Dick Cheney was running a completely separate chain of Command & Control via the Secret Service, assuring the paralysis of Air Force response on 9/11. The Secret Service has the technology to see the same radar screens the FAA sees in real time. They also have the legal authority and technological capability to take supreme command in cases of national emergency. Dick Cheney was the acting Commander in Chief on 9/11.
