
The conservative Dutch government of Jan Peter Balkenende fell apart Friday over the citizenship case of Somali-born former deputy Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who made a name with her anti-Islamist behavior.
The political turmoil over the improprieties in citizenship application of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, that led to revocation of her citizenship -- she had lied and falsified her name to escape an arranged marriage when she applied for asylum in 1992, and caused a split in the 3-year-old Dutch coalition government.
